Re: Quiz Club in our college

Introduction
World’s needs are changing rapidly these days. Mere surviving is not what today’s budding achievers want to do. And to excel in this world which is now more of a challenge, perhaps the most important thing that one needs to have is knowledge of what happens around him. This is where general knowledge plays a pivotal role in building a man’s confidence and plays a large part in deciding what kind of future he will have. This is exactly what this club will help to achieve in this college by providing all those who have a thirst for knowledge and encouraging the rest to inculcate that thirst in them by providing an ideal platform for the same, thus giving them enormous confidence that will help them become more knowledgeable technocrats with a brighter future.

Need
This kind of initiative is always helpful for making us prepared for our further studies
Our team will help in spreading general awareness both in and outside campus
Updated knowledge of happenings around us is must in this competitive era
This club is needed to develop better and more meaningful interaction abilities
A platform is needed for sharing of information among students

Functioning & Plans
We plan to organize monthly quizzes at college level to maintain the momentum of quizzing environment
Inter college quizzes, inviting various colleges of the state have been planned as one such event per year or per semester, if possible
Organizing ‘Sankalp’ and ‘Waves’ quiz events and enhancing their standards are aimed by us
We will work for the encouragement of quizzing habit in schools of villages and the city of Berhampur
We will make inclusion of members frequently by giving many opportunities to students
We also plan to hold competitive quizzes using college’s website
A new and competitive format of quiz in ‘nist e-news’ is planned
Our functioning will be systematic as we will appoint hostel and batch representatives
We shall welcome the faculty involvement for our betterment
We shall regularly invite questions and ideas from students
We shall organize frequent group meetings to make the club better
We also will be assisting various college clubs to organize events
Providing general awareness among students is also one of our priorities
For continuous involvement and interest we plan to post interesting facts frequently on all notice boards weekly
We shall focus the attention on all the courses of the college equally
Plans to run a magazine in future is also in our vision
One of the most important function that we are going to have is to provide needed consultancy (like information of dates and patterns) to students for participation in various events through the state and country
We will also be making sure of providing relevant magazines and papers to all the hostels

Support
First of all we will be having the support large group of eager students
We are sure of winning the support of our ever encouraging teachers
We look forward to attain significant sponsorships for our major events
We can have support from interested NIST alumni by contacting them

Conclusion
This club will definitely create an environment of healthy competition, inspiring students to improve themselves and make them better prepared to excel in the challenges that lie in front of them when they eventually step out of the college and add new heights to the glory of our institution.

Respected Dean sir responded very positively and suggested us to work under ISTE Student chapter of our college. Mr. Ajay Kumar Rath being the ISTE faculty adviser became our mentor .After all the administrative hustles and persuasion the quizzing community of NIST started functioning under the prestigious banner of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) Student chapter.
Thus began the real journey of NIST Quizzards. In next post will discuss about our first major task (Inter Hostel QUIZ competition).
